Peter's Birthday Present
Peter is a grade 5 student. There is a pet shop next to his school. He goes in to see a cute, black puppy with curly fur every day after school. He likes it very much. He wants to buy it.
One day, he comes in and asks the shop keeper, "How much is the puppy? "35 dollars," says the shopkeeper.
Peter counts his money. He just has 25 dollars. "What can I do?" he asks himself.
His mom gives him 2 dollars for an ice-cream- He doesn't buy it. His father gives him 5 dollars for washing the car. He saves it.
He just needs 3 more dollars. He goes into the shop to see the puppy again. It is still there, but beside it is a sign, "On sale, $32". Peter is very happy.
